Local Government
For administrative purposes the Philippine government is divided into regions, provinces, and chartered cities. Regions include the National Capital Region, encompassing the Manila metropolitan area; the Cordillera Administrative Region, a semiautonomous region of upland tribal groups in northern Luzon; and the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), encompassing four provinces in Mindanao. The ARMM is a quasi self-governing region that was formed in 1989. It has an elected legislative assembly and is headed by a governor with limited executive powers. Provinces are headed by governors, and chartered cities are headed by mayors.
Philippine provinces are subdivided into cities and municipalities. Unlike chartered cities, which are accountable to the national government, cities and municipalities are responsible to the government of the surrounding province. Each provincial city or municipality is headed by an elected mayor.
The smallest unit of local Philippine government is the barangay. In rural areas the barangay is a village, and in urban areas it is a neighborhood. Each city or municipality contains numerous barangays, and there are thousands of barangays in the Philippines. Each barangay is administered by a chief executive and a community council, whose members are elected by the residents of the barangay.

While Barangays may have good initiatives, there is a need to support these good policies and laws, as well as ensured budgetary assistance. Our Barangay (Pinagbirayan Malaki) on my personal assessment

Our province, where I grew up since birth until we move in to Metro Manila after I graduated from primary school, belongs to Region V, Camarines Norte is one of the provinces that is identified by local government as among the poorest. The main source of livelihood it produces is mainly copra, and rice.
And our town Paracale is famous for its richness in gold, but practically residents still rely on rice farming and coconut plantations, like our barangay Pinagbirayan Malaki the lack of livelihood opportunity in rural areas are really the major reasons for migration of people to all major cities in the Philippines particularly Metro Manila.

The problems or primary concerns in our barangay that needs local government attention are:

1. Barangay officials who seems to have political agenda in terms of development.
2. Absence of Kooperatiba ( Cooperative ) to support the funding and act as middleman. And develop alternative farming schemes.

3. Security of investors from revolutionary movements like New Peoples Army (NPA) who imposes a discouraging revolutionary taxes.

4. The mind setting of the people to earn a living is to work or migrate to crowded cities
leaving their land and farm instead of cultivating it.

5. The importance of education is not intensively taught or imputed the mind of the
parents and to their children.

Rice planting in the Philippines, with all neighbouring countries like Vietnam and Thailand development to increase their production it puts small farmer from the non major rice producing regions at stake. These needs defines the significant of an alliance to barangay concerns to strenghten and facilitate the development in the rural areas.

Conclusion and Recommendation

With all among Party list representatives running for a chance to have a voice in our congress only ABC Party list stand out with their vision, mission and strategy to really facilitate the concerns in barangay's across the nation there is not doubt that we should supports this party list and make our contribution for the alleviation of poverty in the smallest unit of local government in our country, and we can do that by giving ABC Party list a voice in congress, Say Yes to ABC Party list..... and lets vote to ABC Party list

Why Assisted suicide should be illegal? Here are a few of a hundred reasons that matters.

There are many things normal people were afraid of, under different circumstances, situations and aspects in life. I myself certainly have a lot of fears.

What is Fear, Anxiety and a Phobia? How does it hold us from doing something?
Fear and anxiety are similar emotions but with an important difference. Fear is the emotion that people feel when a danger is actually present, while anxiety is the fear connected with worrying about danger that might happen. A phobia is an intense fear of specific things, like dogs or spiders or riding in elevators.

All of this three defines what I have felt during my first my 1st and 2nd blood donation. During the first some were are joking on me because Im so skinny and weight nearly 100 lbs( 50kg) I was so nervous, before the syringe got into my vein my eyes are already close, the nurse said "are you ok? " I said I am, On the second donation my eyes is open and looking around but not on the needle and I think of other things to divert my emotions.


And on the last blood letting I'm still nervous but very minimal this time I manage to stir on the syringe as it pierce to my vein, it was nearly the size of Yakult drink straw. It was on my 6th consecutive donation I never miss a single one with God grace I always passed the health screening this time I said to myself " I've faced my FEAR"

Why Do I need to donate blood?
Blood is very important in many medical operations such as in serious accidents, organ transplants and supporting patientss with blood-related disease like haemophilia ( a disease that prevents blood from clotting).
Most hospitals and medical centers are alwayss having a shortage of blood due to a lack of donors. This had often resulted i delayed surgeries, operations and treatments, which can lead to complications and death in patients.

Who can Donate?

To ensure your health and well-being, you are encouraged to come forward and make a blood donation only if you:

1. Are between 16 and 60 years old
2. Weigh at least 45 kg
3. Have a haemoglobin level of at least 12.5 g/dl
4. Are in generally good health
5. Have not had any symptoms of infection for at least 1 week e.g. sore throat, cough, runny nose, diarrhea
6. Have not had a fever in the last 3 weeks.

What are the steps involved in blood donation?
Before going for blood donation, please remember to have a good meal. The hospital/organization involved would ask you to fill in a form in regards to your age, health status, family history etc. to prevent the trasmission of infectious diseases amongst the patients.
Next a brief physical exam would be given whereby doctors would test for blood pressure, pulse, temperature and any other irregularities that should be found within the blood. You will be asked to be seated in a reclining chair and position yourself in the most comfortable. An anaesthetic would be apply after that A needle would be injected into your vein and a unit of blood would be drawn from you and stored immediately to prevent contamination. after the process, donors are usually served refreshments to replenish their loss blood while remaining seated.


Are there any known side effects of blood donation?
No. Till date, there has been no medical proof of the side effects that blood donation might bring. Many have gone through the process without a hinch and from then saved the lives of million others. Blood donation is quick and safe and does not cost you a single cent.
